Soccer Analyst Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions
Arsenal's 10-game winning streak was ended by the Black Cats before the international break, but will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."
The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of special visitors.
In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is available on Friday.
Football and Family Experiences
Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.
"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or son decides to play instead."
The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.
"I won't force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their Saturday football side," he added.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.
"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this game will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear strong again.
West Ham's sole away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.
Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?
I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.
A family member advised me to select Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.
Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.
They have not had great success on the road this term, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
The singer's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.
They have got plenty of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.
Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.
Their performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of last month.
However I am not going to do that. Instead, I truly need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly love to prove me wrong.
Looking at Fulham's home record, the only team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will secure three points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
